RHPM 326W - Recreation Therapy and Inclusion (W): A study of the characteristics and needs of diverse populations, specifically related to the delivery of inclusive leisure services. In-depth discussion of personal and societal attitudes, stereotypes, cultural competencies, legislation, accessibility, and program modification. Learning experiences include volunteer work, guest speakers, and wheelchair experience. This course is applicable to all disciplines dealing with diverse populations.
Professional Experience:
Involvement Coordinator - Associated Students of California State University, Chico: As an involvement coordinator I was responsible for interviewing potential new employees as well as researching how other universities, both private and public get students involved with campus. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the differences in how universities get students engaged and what we could do differently to see greater campus engagement from Chico State students.
Student Event Programmer - Associated Students of California State University, Chico: As a student event programmer I am responsible for researching trends in the event industry, sustainable alternatives to many traditional event and marketing items, and ways in which to up the attendance of our events. This information helps us to achieve the best possible outcome for our events while also maintaining our goal of being as sustainable as possible in all our practices.
